The Wedding Timeline - Hair & Makeup

Hair and Makeup:

Planning your time on your wedding day so everything that needs to be done is done on time and less worrying and more partying and enjoying your day is what it’s really about.  We begin with putting the timeline together and learning the basics of hair and makeup trials in a wedding timeline.

Planning a simple and easy hairstyle with your hairstylist for you and your bridesmaids, and Mother-of-Bride makes getting in and out of the salon easier.  When booking with your salon check to see if they have other weddings booked that same day or other clients booked before the time you are scheduled arrive.  One way to fall behind on your day is if another client of theirs takes longer for any of the members in your wedding party.  A run through of the big day with each type of hairstyle that will be performed will allow for you to see if you like the style, make changes and know how long you will be in the salon for each girl.

A run through with the makeup artist will also give you a chance to see how the makeup used will hold up all day and how you will look in your photos.  Ideally if your hair and makeup salon are either at the same location or near the each other will bridge the gap in taking longer to drive to get to each location.  When doing your run through for hair and makeup; book as if you were really getting ready for your wedding day. When figuring time, start when you leave the house, arrive at the salon and get hair done, then leave to drive or walk to the makeup salon and then finally arrive at the location or the place you are getting your dress on or the church.  Figuring the drive time to each location will immensely help.  Don’t forget if you happen to book on a home college football game weekend or some other event, time to get to each location will take longer due to traffic congestion.  Always check with your Chamber of Commerce or area town events information center for what’s going on in or around your town when setting your wedding date.  You may need to figure an alternate routine to get around.
